Samuel Kemp of RSD to play in a National All-Star Basketball Game 02/03/11


Rochester School for the Deaf High School Senior and Varsity Basketball Team Guard Samuel Kemp, Jr., of Clyde, New York, has been selected to participate as a player on the East Squad of the United States of America Deaf Basketball (USADB) High School All-Star game.

The USADB 4th Annual Frank R. Turk Classic East-West High School All-Star Game will be held Friday, April 1, 2011, at Jefferson High School, in Bloomington, Minnesota. The High School All-State Game is part of the 67th Annual Men's and 21st Annual Women's USADB National Basketball Tournament.

As a leading scorer for the Wildcats, Kemp averages nearly 17 points per game. He also contributes many rebounds, assists and steals in each game.

In 2010, Kemp was named to the DeafDigest All-American Boys High School Basketball Team and earned honorable mention to the NDIAA Boys Basketball All-American Team.
