Dear Adventures in Education Supporter,

Adventures in Education is a cornerstone of Rochester School for the Deaf’s educational outreach and fundraising efforts. A long-standing RSD tradition, Adventures celebrates human striving, courage, and imagination.  

We are pleased to announce that Angela Maria Nardolillo, founder and president of Off-the-Grid Missions, will be our 2023 speaker on Thursday, October 26. Off-The-Grid Missions is the only disaster-response NGO dedicated to providing Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals with life-saving resources in high-risk, remote, and disaster-stricken regions worldwide. Each mission is designed to fill the “gap” in disaster response, responding to crises around the world, whether natural or human-made.  

We sincerely appreciate your past generous support of our Adventures in Education program. As you know, Adventures is an ambitious event. In addition to a public reception and presentation on Thursday evening, our speaker will spend two days with students discussing her work, helping them to understand the impact of crises around the world and to think about disaster preparedness and what is needed to connect Deaf and hard-of-hearing people with critical services. 

Adventures is made possible thanks to the generous support of underwriters like you.  We really need your support to make this all happen. Please join me once again as an underwriter of this year’s event.  At the highest levels, in addition to making this event possible, your sponsorship supports adventures for our students, including the travel abroad program (Egypt this year!) and other enrichment opportunities that make an RSD education distinctive.

As an underwriter, you will receive tickets to a special sponsors’ reception on Wednesday, October 25, at the Perkins Mansion, as well as tickets to Ms. Nardolillo’s presentation on Thursday, October 26, and the general reception that precedes it.  You will, of course, also be recognized at the event and in coverage of the event on social media and the RSD website.
