DATE:        March 11, 2015

I am excited to let you know that Mr. Antony McLetchie will be starting his position as the 7th Superintendent and Chief Executive Officer of the Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) on Monday, April 13, 2015.

As you all have been aware, Mr. McLetchie was hired to the position last August, but he has spent the last seven months preparing himself for the move from Drury and London Schools for the Deaf in Ontario, Canada to RSD.  He had to receive certification from New York State Education Department.  Little did I realize last August that this process would be complicated for Mr. McLetchie, but throughout these seven months, I have come to admire his patience and perseverance.  I believe I am just as excited as he is that he will be ready to start on April 13.

There will be a welcoming ceremony for Mr. McLetchie in the School Auditorium at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, April 13.  Immediately following will be a light reception in the Student Cafeteria.  You are invited to join me at these events.

Dr. Harold Mowl will continue at RSD in an advisory capacity until June 30, 2015.  He will be working with Mr. McLetchie to bring the 2014-15 school year to a close and to get RSD ready for the 2015-16 school year.  Again, I thank him for his 25 years of service to RSD.

It won’t be long before winter ends and we go on our spring break, so my best wishes to all of you for a great spring season.
