RSD Girls’ Varsity Basketball Player Achieves 1000 points

Junior Standout Brianna Di Giovanni Makes RSD Athletics History

Danville, KY – Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) junior Brianna Di Giovanni, of Irondequoit, NY, recorded her 1000th career point as a Wildcat girls’ varsity basketball player. Her achievement came on the evening of January 9, 2015, on the home basketball court of the Kentucky School for the Deaf, in Danville.

The points that Di Giovanni needed to surpass the 1000 point mark came as she shot from the foul line in a contest between the girls from Rochester and varsity girl Tigers of Georgia School for the Deaf (Click here to see a video of Di Giovanni making her 1000th point for Rochester)

Di Giovanni is only the third varsity girls’ basketball player for RSD to reach and exceed 1000 points in her career. Other Rochester basketball players to make and exceed the mark include: Marissa Woodruff in 2012 (1,168 points, career) and Patricia (Palmer) Canne in 1981 (1,052 points career).
