RSD Three-Sport Student Named NDIAA Athlete of-the-Year

Junior Brianna Di Giovanni Earns Top National Honor

Rochester, NY – Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) High School Junior Brianna Di Giovanni of Irondequoit, a three-sport standout student athlete, has been named the female Division Two Athlete of-the-Year by the National Deaf Interscholastic Athletic Association (NDIAA) for 2015.

NDIAA Athlete of-the-Year, for a male and female athlete each from one Division One and Division Two schools, is the highest honor given by the NDIAA and reflects athletic skill, academic success, community service, leadership and personal character.

Brianna participates on the RSD Wildcats’ Girls Varsity Volleyball and Basketball Teams and on the school’s co-ed Varsity Track and Field Team. She is also President of the Junior National Association of the Deaf RSD chapter.

Her numerous athletic accolades include breaking the Girls’ Varsity Basketball Career Points mark in 2015 with more than 1,179 points. She is a two-time NDIAA Player of-the-Year and the recipient of the 2015 RSD Ames Curchin Outstanding Athlete Award. Brianna also holds numerous Eastern Schools for the Deaf Athletic Association and Deafdigest Sports All-Star and All-American honors.
