RSD Wildcat Student-Athletes Receive National Honors
DeafDigest Sports Selects Three as All-Americans and One as Player of-the-Year

ROCHESTER, NY - DeafDigest Sports, one of the nations’ leading sources for interscholastic, collegiate and professional sports and athletics news and information  regarding competitive Deaf and hard of hearing athletes, has named two Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) Varsity Soccer Teammates to the 2016 DeafDigest Sports  All-American Soccer Team.

Ahmed Mahmoud, of Rochester, and Thomas Coates, or Springwater, NY, were chosen from among 18 high school student-athletes for the 2016 DeafDigest Sports All-American Soccer Team. In addition, Ahmed Mahmoud was selected as the DeafDigest Sports 2016 Eight-man Soccer Team Player of-the-Year.

In October, DeafDigest Sports selected the RSD Varsity Soccer Team as Eight-man Team of-the-Year. Click here for a link to that story.

DeafDigest Sports also announced 23 student-athletes to its 2016 DeafDigest Sports All-American Volleyball Team. Among those selected is RSD Varsity Volleyball player McKenna Girod, of Warsaw, NY. Her selection is notable in that McKenna plays volleyball at the varsity level for RSD, yet she is only in 8th grade.

Athletic Director, Coach and Teacher Mary Cook and all in the RSD family congratulate Ahmed, Thomas and McKenna for their hard-earned National honors.
