Top NDIAA Honors for Girls Basketball Coach and Player 03/24/15

Charles Palmer Named Coach of-the-Year; Brianna Di Giovanni Named Player of-the-Year

Ms. Mary Cook, Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) Athletic Director announced today that the National Deaf Interscholastic Athletic Association (NDIAA) has selected High School Junior Brianna Di Giovanni as the NDIAA Division II Girls Basketball Player of-the-Year.

Ms. Cook also announced the selection of RSD Coach Charles Palmer as the NDIAA Division II Girls Basketball Coach of-the-Year.

Earlier this season Brianna broke the RSD record for varsity girls career points in basketball with 1, 179 points.

Coach Palmer’s team prevailed in both Eastern Schools for the Deaf Athletic Association (ESDAA) Girls Division I and Division II Basketball Championship Tournaments to bring home both championship trophies and game nets to the RSD athletics trophy case in Westervelt Hall.
