RSD Student-Athlete and an Alumnus Earn National Athletic Honors

The National Deaf Interscholastic Athletic Association (NDIAA) 8th Annual Fall Sports Selections include honors for a current Rochester School for the Deaf (RSD) student-athlete as well as a former student-athlete and graduate of RSD.

Ahmed Mahmoud, of Rochester, has been named NDIAA Soccer Player of-the Year. He shares this honor with fellow student-athlete Raymond Mukhailov of Lexington School for the Deaf, in New York City, also named NDIAA Soccer Player of-the-Year.

In November Ahmed was named Soccer Player of-the-Year by Deafdigest Sports, a national online publisher of scholastic athletics news for and about deaf and hard of hearing student-athletes in high school and college.

Warren Keller, a 2004 graduate of RSD and former student-athlete, has been named NDIAA 11-Man Football Coach of-the-Year. Keller is Head Coach for the California School for the Deaf Eagles varsity football team. The school is located in Fremont, California, where Keller also resides.
