After-School Activities

After-School Activities

At Rochester School for the Deaf, learning and connection continue long after the school day ends. Our After-School Activities Program (ASA) give students opportunities to explore new interests, build friendships, strengthen leadership skills, and develop confidence in a fully accessible, language-rich environment.

From athletics and outdoor adventures to student leadership, the arts, and academic enrichment, students are encouraged to discover their passions, challenge themselves, and become active members of our school community.

After-School Activities (Elementary Students)

Three children sit on the ground, playing with a basketball outdoors.

Our younger students (grades K-5) also enjoy engaging after-school opportunities designed specifically for elementary-aged children. Activities provide a safe, supportive, and fun environment where students can explore interests, socialize with peers, and continue developing communication and social skills.

Elementary after-school offerings may include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Games and recreation
  • STEM and hands-on learning activities
  • Storytelling and literacy activities
  • Seasonal clubs and special events
  • Outdoor play and movement activities
  • Sports Clinics

Our After-School Activities Program is offered three afternoons a week during select weeks of the school year.  Programs vary throughout the year based on student interests and seasonal opportunities.

Athletics

Middle and high school student-athletes have opportunities to participate in team sports that encourage teamwork, school spirit, fitness, and leadership. Athletics are an important part of student life and help students grow both on and off the field or court.
